End of an Era…..

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our beloved dingo Allira.

She enjoyed a wonderful life here at Billabong, living to the impressive age of 14 years!

Allira’s health had recently declined and last week she was diagnosed with kidney failure. There was nothing to be done, and as her condition deteriorated quickly we made the difficult decision to let her go.

-Allira and her sister Kalari were just 12 weeks old when they arrived at the park in July 2009. They were joined by King the following year. The three of them lived happily together as a pack for many years

Over the years Allira has charmed thousands of visitors, winning over everyone with her calm and gentle nature. She was a wonderful ambassador for her species.

The entire team will miss her terribly but especially  Honorary Ranger Jules who has been dedicated to our dingoes for over a decade.

Allira is buried alongside King and Kalari in one of their favourite places. Go in peace, gorgeous girl and thank you for all the cuddles, pats, laughs and special moments.
