Jess is a familiar face to many of you, as she has been volunteering here for 5 months now, but has just recently donned the khaki shirt as a casual ranger.
Following up on her undergraduate degree in psychology, Jess is working on a PhD at JCU, mainly studying pygmy blue-tongue lizards. She is interested in how captive animals perceive, respond to and recover from stress stimuli.
Working with us for a couple of days a week gives her a break from data analysis, as well as valuable insight into the behaviour of a broad range of Australian native animals.
Welcome to the team, Jess!
