30 Years WILD!

IT’S OUR 30TH BIRTHDAY, AND WE’LL BE GOING WILD WITH CELEBRATIONS DURING THE WHOLE MONTH OF MARCH, OFFERING A SWAG OF SPECIAL EVENTS, PRIZES AND COMPETITIONS!

Did you know that the site of Billabong Sanctuary was originally a cattle paddock, part of Hannon Downs?

It took two years of hard work to transform it into a beautifully landscaped site, with a permanent billabong and enclosures reflecting the natural habitat of our native animals.

In March we’ll be opening up a Gallery of Photos highlighting the early history of the sanctuary.

Open in Melaleuca Function Centre every day from 9 till 5.

Bob and Del Flemming grew every tree from seed or tube stock, and then planted them all by hand to create the tropical woodland you see today.

We’d like you to share your special memories of the early days of Billabong. Please post your photo on our Facebook page, or email it to us at admin@billabongsanctuary.com.au

We’ll print the best ones and add them to our Gallery. Plus, you could win a family membership in Club Billabong (new or renewal)!

Meantime keep watching this page, and follow us on Facebook for news of all the activities we have planned as we celebrate 30 Years WILD!

Early visitors to the park (about 1985). Brolgas and black swans were among the waterbirds that made their home by the billabong.
